£14m disappeared

The Big Intrigue at The Big Idea,
 Ardeer Peninsula, Irvine

FOUR QUESTIONS:

What happened to the public’s £14 million invested in the Big Idea Inventor Centre?

Why is the building not being regenerated for the local community and people of Ayrshire from the recently allocated £27 million funding to be used for local projects? (As reported in 'The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald' Wed. Feb 21, 2007)

Why is there a proposal to sell off the car park to developers – a car park that is essential for the Big Idea’s existence? (As reported in 'Estates Gazette' March 31, 2007)  See Location

Why are the proposers for the new innovative project of The Living Art Gallery that would use the Big Idea building being told that there are no funds for such a project?

What is Going On?

If the development in the car park  for the Big Idea building goes ahead, any proposal to open up the Ardeer peninsula with a road bridge would be well and truly killed off, together with any chance of The Living Art Gallery being created.
